Wake Archus (Default Name) is the protagonist and God's Gift of Conception 2. Due to the amount of Ether he creates, the heroines can enter the Dusk Circles with him to combat the enemies at their source and ultimately sterilize the Dusk Circle.
Overview[]
He wields Dual Swords as his weapon of choice, and later given the "Ether Amp" which utilizes his Ether to empower his weapons. Wake, however, has had a bad history with Dusk Monsters prior to the main story. His hometown was attacked by Dusk Monsters on the day of his older sister's wedding. His entire family was killed, but he was saved by his older sister before she died. It is presumed during this time that he acquired his Star Brand and developed his experience to fight Dusk Monsters, which probably explains why he was able to handle a group of Dusk Monsters when he saved Fuuko and Chlotz at the beginning of the game.
Appearance[]
Wake is an adolescent teenager of above-average height, with a broad and muscular build. He has silver hair and teal eyes. Like the other students at Aterra Academy, he wears the Academy's uniform. As the God's Gift, he has a magenta lining rather than the gold lining that S Ranks have. His Brandmark is magenta.
In the dungeons, Wake wears his battle outfit, which consists of a shoulderless blacktop, with magenta lining.

Personality[]
Overall, Wake's personality is dependent on the player's choice of dialogue and heroine. He is generally nice and always willing to help those in need. He is easy to get along with and can get along with cold or difficult people like Alec and Serina. If you threaten him or his friends, he will not hesitate to fight back. He doesn't ask much from others and is willing to do things for them without complaining. As he bonds with the heroines, he reveals both a flirtatious and a sarcastic side to him. He tends to be oblivious to the heroine's feelings for him, a facet he is aware of. Usually he is aware of their feelings unless they directly tell him or express it to him. Unlike Itsuki who tends to reciprocate the feelings of the Star Maidens when they do so first, Wake only does it when he chooses who to take with him to the Star Conception Festival.
Wake has a friendly and unassuming character - although he is God's Gift, he is not aloof and does not let it get to his head. He wants to be good friends with everyone and initially finds it a shame that Alec Marker is so jealous of him. From the beginning he tries to build up a friendship with him.
Another character trait of his is his tenacity when it comes to making friends with someone - he doesn't give up and remains friendly and helpful towards Alec or Serina, for example, even if they are dismissive or harsh towards him at the beginning. Despite his traumatic past, he doesn't give up and always keeps his eyes on the future. He is proud of having received the Star Brand because it allows him to fight the monsters that wiped out his family.
His strengths also include his protective instinct and his selflessness - so he saves e.g. Chlotz and Fuuko at the beginning or is able to kill Alec after he had turned into a Dusk Spawner.
He has a great sense of duty, but in emergencies he also likes to break the rules.

- His character transformation is shorter than the Heroines.
- Wake and Fuuko can be seen attending Itsuki's wedding in the Conception (anime).
- Wake's English voice actor, Sam Riegel, is related to Eden Riegel who portrays Ellie Troit in the same game.
- Wake Archus bears a striking resemblance to Reinhard from Re:Zero. Additionally, the artist for Re:Zero's characters is the same artist who designed Conception II's characters.
